88 Camaro (stripped)
88 Camaro (stripped)
I just bought an 88 Camaro and nothing is left at all. Other than the dash (no switches, radio, ect ect), power steering pump, and brake booster (yes the brakes work)but it did come with some 315/60/15 mt street slicks. Where do I go from here? I'm really wanting a street/strip car with 500+ hp. I am not afraid of going all out here but I intend on building it over a period of time thanks to my inlaws still being alive and my waiting on the inheritance. So.... this being my first project car, where do you start on this thing?

Welcome aboard thirdgen.org.
Start by making capable of handling 500 HP, and what it will take to make it safe (i.e., meet sanctioning body rules for the ET and MPH 500 MPH will achieve). Beef up the frame (subframe connectors at least), a beefy rear end like a 9-inch or 12-bolt, and at least a roll bar (might need a cage).
Then you can look for an engine and transmission. If money is secondary, start here http://www.shafiroff.com/

You'll also need to start thinking about the suspension. To make use of 500 HP, you'll want a BMR torque arm among other things.
