iroc 350 engines.

hi well im going doing some pretty powerfull mods to my 87 iroc on my 305tpi and this is just for now tell i get a 350 to drop in and most would be able to be converted to the 350 and i was told just to get a iroc 350 and rebuild it and and more stuff to the 350 and well how much is a complete decent shape 88 plus iroc engine? well im kinda new to cars but if im right if i get the 88 plus iroc's engine it would change my v-belt to the ones compatible with a supercharger or should i actually go for a 90-92's 350tpi engine or just a 88 plus's 350tpi iroc engine? since i would be doing a full rebuild on the 350 would it really matter? and how much would the 350tpi price about? actually well it doesnt even need the tpi im actually going change it to a stealth ram setup so no need for the extra tpi system parts. thx

Re: iroc 350 engines.

You can build a mean 305, but unless you want to do it to be different the cost will be similar to a 350… which will ultimately make more power because of the displacement difference. I went with a 350 as a result. Functionally an 88 v 90 block isn’t all that different (As I recall there is a block off plate for a manual oil pump on an 88 which isn’t present in the 90 or newer block… really is of no significance.) what you will want it’s a complete tpi setup and you need to know the year of the setup because it makes a big difference for tuning (Different year TPIs have different computers and slight differences that you must know about)… If you can pass smog in your area with a stealth ram, it will give you more power and an easy tuning platform. So my advice is just go with the 350, and you can get a good price from these guys… I have ordered from the first link (good price and engine runs great)… second link is a competitor that is worth looking at.
