What part of Texas?

The bundle of wires that go to the passenger fenderwell can be removed as one piece. Disconnect it from the ECM, unclip the bulkhead connector that goes through the kick panel, and pull everything out. Removing the plastic fender liner facilitates that process very well. Fabricate a plate to cover the hole left by the connector.

What you need to run the engine, accessories, and gauges comes in through the firewall and should be undisturbed. You may need to lengthen some wires like alternator, depending upon where your V8 accessories mount. Or, you could find a V8 harness in the junkyard and replace the engine harness only - it connects in the driver side rear corner of the engine compartment.

Reason I asked was possible emissions inspection and/or testing issues. A carb isn't legal in an '88 f-body (unless it came from or mimics the '88 Monte Carlo HO).

Thanks 5 I had the same question. I just got my 350 started today and was lookin at how to clean up the engine bay after my TBI 305. Transmission has it's shift kit in it too, just need to get them in the car and down to the exhuast shop now.
