high guys, i know this can be done with only getting the tranmisson plate from summit and motor mounts, my guestion is what about

i plan on putting in a 67 catalina 290hp motor in my 86z for the mean time untill it blows up and i stroke it to a 406 my 305 is about dead, with both electical and carb problems so why not do away with most electrical and save money on carb,the pontiac motor i have now has a two barrel with 290hp not bad for stock motor do you think buy getting a kit from edlebrock with the intake and cam and carb would put me at about 350hp ????? kinda new to the carb scene mostly deal with my 89tpi firebird so any help would be apprectiated it thanks ,

 

What plate would this be? I tried asking what kind of adaptation I would need for the tranny, but I was told none, so can someone fill me in here. Thanks.

 

I think what he is refering to is the B&M adapter for a TH350 into a third gen. What you are needing to do (if I have this right) is adapet a 700R4 from a V6 to a V8 and I don't think one is made for that. I beleive you will have to get another tranny that will fit a V8. (If I remember corectley some v6's have a different bellhousing pattern then the other v6's and v8's)

 

not sure about the adapter plate you need arron, but both jegs and summit sell adapter plates might want to call them, i currently have a chevy motor to a pontiac tras in my 69 gmc truck, now i just need to do the opposite and go from pontiac motor to chevy trans,
