305tbi to 350 carb?
305tbi to 350 carb?
I now have a 305tbi in my 92 RS and am planning to swap it for a 350 carb. The 350 is out of an old car, that didn't have a computer, that I have rebuilt. Will I be able to take out the old computer and not have any problems with my guages and transmission(700R4) or will I need to leave the computer in?

If you put a carb on, your computer is going to be very, very confused. It won't know what to do. For one thing, your TCC won't lock up.
A better bet would be to put the 350 in with your TBI stuff and go from there. The guys on the TBI board will be able to help you get the most out of the 350. There will be some issues (such as center intake manifold bolts), and you'll need a different flex plate than what your '92 has. Nothing outrageous, though.
I can't help but think you'd be happier overall keeping the TBI. But, that's just my opinion.

I did that swap a few weeks ago, am very pleased with the results. Took 12 hrs for the full swap tbi to carb w/ vac/mech distributor with ignition box and fabricating parts needed for the carb fuel system and setup of the throttle. Engine swap happens in two weeks, 305 to 350.
