85 Blazer 350 with 50,000 miles?
Does anyone know how much hp/torque this guy had? How bad of a swap would this be into a 91RS? How expensive, and how big of a deal would it be to rebuild this?

I can't say exactly how much power they put out, but the truck engines weren't known for performance. The compression sounds good, though.
I'd think you'd be happy with the results if you put better heads on it (like World Products S/R Torquers w/1.94-1.50 valves and 64cc chambers, '87-up intake pattern to match your '91 intake) and a nice Comp cam. Being an '85, it will have flat vs. roller lifters, and 2-piece vs. 1-piece rear main seal. You'll want a 350 knock sensor & module, and need a different flex plate.
If you already have the engine, for likely less than another $1000, you'd have a nice running piece. You shouldn't have to touch the lower end, although a new oil pump is usually a good insurance policy.

Great, thankyou. That exactly the kind of info i was looking for. And yes i was planning on putting new heads on And i was thinking even of supercharging it, but not sure yet. Ill probably take care of everything else first then decide if i want to supercharge. Thanks for the info. Anybody got anything else to add???

One slight correction: the S/R Torquers come in 67cc and 76cc. You'd want the 67cc to get the compression up - truck motors have dished pistons with (typically) 76cc chambers.
