Getting a free modded 91Z28 350, need help with swap

Well, it's a great thing, kinda. My buddy rang himself in way over his head in debt and his is filing for bankruptsy. Since his other car, which happens to be a 14.0 sec Z28 is one of them, he is going to screw the bank and said he would give me the motor. Well I would die for this cause I have a p.o.s. LG4. My car is yes, an 87 and I want to know how much it will take to do the swap. He is filing on monday so we figure we have 2 monthes to set a date. I figure it should take us 3 days, 1 for the motor swappings and the other for the wiring. Any help especially with the wiring is greatly appreciated. I have a 5 speed also, and I know it won't last with that motor. What do you think I need to do to the tranny also? I am very excited about this because the best part about it is it's free. The motor only has 50k on it! Thanks in advance.

Let's see, what all can we come up with here?

Fraud.

Grand Theft Auto.

Receipt of stolen goods.

Conspiracy to commit the above.

3-10 years.

how much would your friend want for his car? just the rolling chasis after your motor swap.
that would help a little bit by paying off the loan he might have.

Chris

if you are going to do this, then a full rebuild of the T-5 for high performance, or a t-56 out of a 4th gen, or get an auto

How is this illegal. It is his car, he can do what he pleases with it. The fact that I am putting my old motor in his car makes it run. He could just say he made a motor swap, nothing illegal about that. Plus he's filing bankruptsy so they have to take what they can get and cannot sue, that's in his protection.

i think five7kid didn't quite understand cause it is kind of hard to gather what you meant from your first post. but anyways, that would not be illegal cause all it is is a motor swap like you stated. you'd be fine even if he wasn't filing for chapter 11. anyways, if you can, i'd still like to know if he wants to sell the car before the bank takes it back.

You said, "...he is going to screw the bank...". By that, I assume that he has financed the car, since you also said the "Z28 is one of them"; and therefore, he does not have title to it. If he sells (or gives away) all or part of that car, and then claims to know nothing of it, that is fraud and theft. The rest follows.

You said he got over his head in debt - that was at best unwise, could even be called stupid. But to "screw the bank" because of your own irresponsibility is, ... what? Smart? Savvy? An opportunity? How about dishonest? Illegal?

Your best bet is to stay away from this "deal". If you really want it, buy it legit (with the bank's knowledge). Giving you advice on how to pull it off just makes us all party to the dishonesty.

I can't believe it, either. We're all the worse for it.
