Switching from carb to TPI

I have an 84 Sport Coupe with a 305 carbed LG4 motor. I got a 350 TPI engine, wiring harness, and computer from an 89 Trans Am GTA. I plan on doing the swap. For anyone who has done this, what are some problems that you have come across? Does it run good now? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Since you're from IL. I'd say stick with the carb intake just because it's cheaper to tune and you'll get more hp. Even if it's a stock q-jet carb. Carcraft made crazy hp with it and showed no difference in hp up till 300hp I think it was when the swapped on a double pumper and got 0 more hp. Just tune it and get a good manifold. I know from previous posts that a 350 TPI is a pain to get the wiring harness in and running if you've had the 305 TBI. If you had the 305 TPI you wouldn't even need the wiring harness. Good luck.

Even if I had the 305 TPI, I would still need the wiring harness. The harness for the carb motor is completely different. What else do I need?

I currently have the LG4 in my car now too.. and I'm doing a 350 TPI swap also.

As for Carb Vs. TPI, that is a huge argument. I choose TPI for MANY reasons.

If you have the entire wiring harness and computer, you should be all set. It won't be terribly easy, but trust me, it will be worth it -=)
