emissions legal?

im swapping my 305 for a 350 with my 305 TPI.
i was planning on ripping the smog pump and **** off, but then i was told that in a year or two they're gonna start doing emmisions testing here. will i be able to pass it with the 350 and now smog stuff except cat?

I would have to say no way. Most testing starts with visual inspection of emission equipment. I don't have testing here yet in my part of Florida ,,,and with Bush as governor,,, I doubt I will. I have heard of people being able to pass without certain equipment intact, but failing just because it wasn't there.

Is there any way to get around emmisions testing? like i said, we dont have it yet, but several people have told me we'll be getting it soon.

Do what you wish, but I don't see a need for ripping all that stuff off. Those emission components are not as much a hinderence as they were in the early 70s. You can buy some very nice CAT's that flow very nicely and will still get you past the pipe sniffers.

Oh, one more note of interest. $2500 dollars for EACH emission violation (equipment removed or made inoperable)!
