what block will work?

i have a 1991 z28. what sbc blocks will work with the current tpi setup? for example i have a stripped block from a 74 nova in my garage that i would love to build up but will it work with the tpi and line up at the motor mounts?

The issues with the block are: the type of rear main seal, which will determine the type of flexplate/flywheel you use; which side the dipstick is on (not a problem if you use headers); perhaps the starter type, especially with 400's; and whether a factory-type roller cam will work or not. However, none of these factors influence whether or not you can use TPI - that's the heads. All of them can be worked around with minimal to no hassle - typially meaning they'll be less expensive than they would be with your '91 (except the starter, or if you want a roller cam).

Motor mounts will be completely, entirely identical, unless you have a '55-'57 265 or 283 block. Nope, you've got a '74 - no problem!
