TPI to carb. in california?
Hey guys, i hate my TPI and ECU engine already, sick of all of the Bs involved with modern technology. maybe im wrong, but i would LOVE to swap out my TPI setup for a carb.
problem is, im in california. now, i have heard that you can't convert a TPI to a carb, it isn't "allowed". is this true? how is it not "allowed" do they check when you get your registration? (would still show a fuel-injected engine with the VIN)
any comments?
thanks!

As soon as the tech saw the engine code in the VIN or typed it into the computer and it came up FI, you would be screwed. And even if you had a chance, it would have to be a computer controlled carb. A non computer carb in cali, well... you would never get away with it unless you know someone.
