Is this a good deal???
i have talked to the guys at SDPc2000.com and after many questions they offered to sell me a 350 long block, with a zz4 cam and valve springs installed, and the heads worked to accomidate the springs...and possibley a little porting too, im not sure...for $1799.....should i go with this, or buy the short block for $1250, the zz4 cam for $100, valve spings for $50 and then have the heads worked by a place over here.....

What you'd save is what they're charging you to assemble it. You'd have to take it apart, so would need new gaskets as well (not a big expense). Also, you'd need to determine how much it would cost to have the heads worked (and reassembled, unless you did that yourself, too).
Doesn't sound like a bad deal to me. It comes down to how many pennies you want to pinch.
Any warranty talk? If you take it apart, bye-bye warranty.

oh yeah.....warrenty....forgot about that....i know there is one, just dont know how long it is.....and i just really dont want the hassle of putting the thing together, cause i know ill screw something up....a local machine shop said that it would cost $250 for a 3 angle valve job, plus labor for porting, plus machining it for new springs....so i think that they both might work out to be the same....

I don't understand what you said. In senario 1 you buy an assembled 350 long block with a ZZ4 cam for $1800. In scenario 2 you buy a short block and ZZ4 cam and springs for $1400 and talk about having the heads ported. Where did the cylinder heads come from in scenario 2?
Anyway, you need to step back and really think about what you're getting for your money. The ZZ4 is a $3300 engine and you're not going to clone it for $1700. The engine you're looking at likely has low performance iron heads (porting won't get you far), production crank and rods, cast pistons, cast iron rings, etc. The ZZ4 cam won't work very well because the motor is likely low compression. The motor won't even come close to the performance level of a ZZ4. I don't say this to discourage you but to set you on your toes so you aren't disappointed with your purchase. Just make sure you understand what you will and won't get from this motor. As long as it meets your criteria, then it's all good
