Do you need a new computer going from TBI to TPI?

Although i wasnt expecting on doing an engine swap for a few months, looks like my ecm might be trashed, if it is id rather just switch to tpi right now. About how much do you think it would cost in whole to go to a tpi setup?? thanks

The tbi computer wont work with tpi from what I've heard. Complete tpi setups are for sale used for $350-600 including the tpi ecm.

Definitely different. the TBI ecm's don't use a memcal.

Search for tpi on ebay - there are people always selling tpi harnesses and intakes.

The TBI computer also is much slower baud rate than the TPI. TBI gets maybe 3-4 inputs from sensors on a run down the 1/4 mile while TPI's get 20-22. Then there is carb....no inputs
