TBI-to-TPI harness?
Have you guys heard of a harness that adapts a TPI system to a TBI computer and existing harness?
When Super Chevy did project silver streak they used it-remeber that issue?
I don't know the brand, probobly painless wiring.
If you know about this and where to get it or better yet have used it yourself, please pass along the good word.
It's for a friend trying to put a TPI in his TBI caprice.
Thanx
------------------
'88 RS (originally 2.8)
New 350, .040 over, ported vette L98s, ported stock tpi.
Old 305 injectors & chip
TES headers, 3.73 gears, 700r4.
Best with 2.8-17.4@77mph
Best with 305-15.0@93mph
Best with 356-13.7@101mph
(Damn the 2.8!)

After looking for a TPI harness myself for several months I almost gave up doing the swap. I had not one but two Painless wiring harnesses and I sent both back within a few days. This harness doesn't have half the wires you might need (its missing connections to the power steering pressure sensor, charcoal canister, AIR valves, etc). Trying to integrate a Painless wiring harness with the stock harness is possible but a headache even for an electronics tech like myself. I just don't have the patience or the time.
I did run across a company that made a conversion harness/box that just plugged between your computer and your stock harness and included the extra wires you need. But at over $300 I kept looking for a better choice.
My suggestion is to contact Howell EFI (www.howell-efi.com). You send them your TBI harness and they convert it to TPI with the all the connections you need and want. I just sent mine to them last week and expect to get it back in a week or two. The cost for this conversion is about $350. A new GM harness runs over $600 and finding a used one is close to impossible without needing to buy the engine with it.

Fake, Super Chevy used the Integrator harness from Street and Performance http://www.tunedport.com/000165l.html
I also checked into the Intergrator Harness. Here is the email reply with pricing I recieved from Street and Performance. Good Luck! I eventually found a complete TPI harness local out of a 91 Camaro for $50.00
---------------------------------------------
Pricing and components are as follows:
TBI to TPI Integrator Harness = $545.00
'90-'92 Camaro Computer = $125.00
Custom 350 Chip = $185.00
'90-'91 Knock Sensor = $46.00
Electric Speed Buffer = $89.95
Thank you,

Re: TBI-to-TPI harness?
Okay, i have a 89 RS perfect body, no motor. NOW, I want to take my 88 IROC, in wich has the L98 350 TPI, and i do believe has the G96 option that has the 3.73 rear, and swap everything to make that RS an IROC. what are the differences, i know the RS had the L03 305 TBI. are the trannys gunna be the same 700r4? will i need to change any of the suspensions to give it the IROCs handling? What about the wiring for the TPI? am i gunna have alot of stuff to swap? bassically, in detail, what am i going to need to pull from my 88 IROC and put into this 89 RS to make it like my IROC, because my IROCs body is just going to crap, but everything in it is good. and this RS body is IMMACULANT, hell, the doors shut like a 2007 4 door civic, nice and light and CLICK shut instead of SLAM shut. PLEASE ADVISE
