Hey, I want to swap in a 350 in my 92 bird but have a question. I noticed in an earlier post that a 91-92 RS had a ramjet in it and only ran a 13.0!!! Is there any 350 crate engine out there that can fit under the stock hood and get into the 12's in the 1/4?

if you don't break all the other parts in the drive train i believe a zz430 might just do, along with a few other SBCs

that brings a question to mind. How do the new ram-air LS1's(325 HP) run low 13's(I've even heard of very high 12's with a professional driver). Yet, we have lighter cars, and the ramjet(350 HP) doesn't do better?????

Saddle the ZZ4 motor with full emission controls and it puts out quite a bit less power than an LS1. Also, it's not important how much Hp the motor puts out. It's what makes it to the ground that is important. Once again, the 3rd gen car is outgunned. Plus, suspension and gearing is a sore spot with the 3rd gen cars. This can all be fixed, but it costs money.

By the way, 13.0 is just as good or better than any stock LS1 car. Look at the average car, not the exceptionally fast.
