okay all the comparisons (383-400)...

have stated the facts about positives and ngitives about building one or another. but say a engine that puts out 450 hp and 500 lb torque, which would be a cheaper build? Then if both are built to hold nitrous is one that would be better to build for nitrous use? sorry if this is confusing

if you can find a rebuildable 400 at a good price it would be better.to build a 383 you will need a modified 400 crank or an aftermarket crank

"If" you find a rebuildable 400, don't ruin the crank by having it reground for the 350 block. Just build the 400. If you want to build a 383 then buy an aftermarket crank.

Altitude corrected rear wheel HP based on power to weight ratio: 476.5
Best 60 foot: 1.662

Racing at 3500 feet elevation but most race days it's over 5000 feet density altitude!
