ZZ4 crate engine and knock sensor
ZZ4 crate engine and knock sensor
Hi
I'm getting the ZZ4, and I would like to use the knock sensor.
So I just wonder if there is a proper location for the knock sensor in the ZZ4 block?

Yes, you just have to remove a plug.

Remove the plug that is in the same location as the knock sensor is in for your current engine. All SBC's (at least up to '92 - not sure about LT1's or LS1's) have this plug, which is at the bottom of the water jacket on each side. The knock sensor is on the passenger side.
You'd be best served by getting a 350 knock sensor and module, if you currently have a 305.
