Help! Cant get it back together!

I have a 85 Camaro Z28 I cleared out the engine comapartment over a year ago. I found another engine but, now that I that I have it in the car I cant remember where everything goes. Yes I know I should have labeled. I was very distraut at the time and wasn't thinking. I don't know anyone in the area with a Z to compare with. Thanks for any help in advance.

Man, that's not good. I don't tend to label as I disassemble on my '57, and haven't on several other "older" vehicles I've worked on in the past couple of decades. But, I can assure you, I labeled EVERYTHING I took apart on both the donor and driver cars when I did my swap.

You can sort of trace out your vacuum lines based on the decal under the hood, assuming it's still there. You might be able to figure out wiring by tracing down the schematic in a Haynes manual (it's actually pretty good for an '85 model). But, your situation is exactly why it's recommended to take pictures before anything is taken apart, and to label things as you disassemble.

Are you talking about the lines or the lines AND parts??
For your lines.. I'm guessing you didn't totally take off the lines from the part. There is at least a part on one side of the line isn't there?? If you describe the part the line is connected to and the size of the line, maybe some of the people here can help you out. (ex: there's a skinny rubber tube connected to an elbow on the intake-behind TBI). If you TOTALLY took off the lines off everything it will be alot harder to re-trace. But your best AND fastest bet would be on comparing it to a friends car you can see.

Go to the Owners List https://www.thirdgen.org/newdesign/owners/view.html and do a search. You just might find someone closer than you think who would be willing to bring their car over and help you out.
