305tpi to350 tpi
Decided to forget about building up the 305. The car is a 85 Trans am w/305tpi. I have found several 350 chevy small blocks in my local paper. What kind of years should I be looking for and out of what? Will I be able to bolt the tpi setup onto the block? What else needs to be changed? Price range for all of this to be installed?

Hey there,I'm in the same boat
you need to check your bolt pattern, whether or not its a center bolt head, all 350 will go in,it's the hardware, like; valve covers, intake bolts and sending units, pully hardware brackets. Where is your A/C? I don't know about 85 t/a's whether or not they were roller engines? Hope I can help a little!

It's not a roller engine that I have now. A/C is on the driver side,Alt. on pass. side. I don't have center bolt valve covers. What kind of 350 should I look for?

OK, are you going to use the existing valve covers you have now? you can use any 350 that you can install all of the sending units, I would use any from 86 and higher that is not a center bolt if your going to use your old stuff or you get a complete motor with all the hardware whether it's a roller or not, now the tricky part is finding a computer that is compatable with your aplication, changing from 305tpi to 350tpi, that's what I run into now, to use your existing wireharness you need to have the same wire set up, computer, for example if its maf 305 now, you need a maf 350 computer. some say just change the prom, chip.
I'm still checking,
Hope this will help some.
