Early 350 with my T-5?

I have the opportunity to buy a strong engine that was originally in a 68 P/U. I was told its a 4bolt main, but thats all I know. What modifications will I need to make to merge it with my T-5? Can I use the distributerr on my 305 for my 350? Im going to try to get a TBI unit from a 454. Or just use my TBI with maybe 65 or 80lb injectors. Any help would be much appreciated.

If it was priginally from a 68 pickup then it doesn't have EGR which won't work with your emmisions but you didn't need it anyway. Thats okay because the T5 wasn't used on the 20 becasue of emission reasons anyway. The T5 bolts up to the bellhousing and you need to get a bellhousing for it. Make sure that it wasn't out of a V6 car becasue it won;t take the torque of a 350. You said that ou have a 305 distributor. That will fit the 350 but I am not sure about the TBI system. That has emission stuff on it but I am sure there is a way to get it to work without it. I would just use a carb with a distributor that doesn't need a computer. I am doing a similar swap with the 350 in my firebird. I have a TH350 trans though.

The tranny will bolt right up to the older motor but you will have to make sure you are using a 153 tooth flywheel. The larger 167 tooth flywheel that the older motor likely had won't fit within the confines of the T-5 bellhousing. Also, make sure the new flywheel is for an internally balanced engine. Make sure you install a new pilot bearing in the engine block too.

Just get a old style flywheel and use the intake from your 305 it can be made to fit.
