Radiator problem with my LT1, help me !

I know my lt1 is reverse cooled, would it be possible to put a regular 3rd gen rad in my 89 RS, install my LT1, and plug the 2 hoses upside down ??? Would it work ???

Mathieu, not sure what to tell you, but about 2 months before I swapped in the LT1 I had to replace my radiator and we put in a new 3 row one. When we swapped it I THINK all we did was reverse the hoses, dont see why it wouldnt work. I remeber my dad and I sitting there holding up the hoses and discussing the flow direction, so I think all we did was reverse them.

I read somewhere that you can but I dont know if the demands of the LT1 can be met with the stock thirdgen radiator, but it should cause 4 core units are pretty good, IMO. I know the fourthgen one is thinner but thats so it can fit in that crammed engine bay with all the LT1 stuff, remember that on fourthgens half of the engine sits under the windshield of the car

mat89RS, I have an 89 RS also, but with a six. Can I use my raditor with the LT1? I want to change the fan to dual electric., but I just don't understand why I have to change my raditor.

Also, do you have the fuse block from the LT1? Can you tell me how its wire and what it looks like?

Thanks

Also, you said you have the engine in. Did you have a problem with the A/C compressor?

Well you're radiator is too small, if you want to use a 3rg gen one, buy a V8, 3 core rad at lease.I think have any problem with the A/C because I sledge banged the cross-member, I worked great. if you need tips on doing that go to www.hpsalvage.com there's some stuff about the cross-member.
