'79 Pontiac 403 in '87 Camaro 2.8

Can it be done, and what mods are necessary? Please don't reply with "I think you need this, and that" I need facts! Have a rebuilt 403 with just 20k miles on it available to drop in my lethargic '87 V6 f-body. Please give all the details, tranny, rear end, springs, etc.... Thanx!

I know it's out of a pontiac...... but isn't it an Olds 403?? You may have better luck looking for Olds swaps than Pontiacs.
The Olds 403 can be a killer street motor with a Huge bore and a relatively short stroke. It replaced the Pontiac v8 for a few years after the pontiac became extinct. I do not have any facts though as far as a swap. Should be similar to a Pontiac swap though.

Good Luck,
Boo.

The 403 engine in the late 70's t/a's was an olds motor not a pontiac. they do have potential for massive tq tho.i built one in my 85 cutlass, the biggest problem i think you might have putting one in a third gen is the exhaust. the manifolds bolt to the heads at an angle almost pointing to the center of oilpan. the heads are angled very diff from chevy and pontiac motors, you will probably have alot of modification to get it in there. good luck!

The torque output is no joke. GMC even put them in 10,000 lbs Front Wheel Drive GMC Motorhomes in 1978.
