temp sensor and fan switch

i have a problem, i'm swapped my 305tbi motor for a 79 350 block. Problem is that the temp sensor and the fan switch are to small to bolt into the threads. A guy from a speed shop told me that i need 1/2 inch pipe thread and that the stock sensors were 3/8 of an inch. Then i went to a gm parts shop and the guy told me that they are are the same size. What do I need to do? Should i make some sort of adapter or they they sell an adapter. thanks

They sell an adapter. I believe the one you need is called a reducer from 1/2" pipe thread to 3/8" pipe thread. I had to buy one for my temp switch. Just carry your temp switch in with you when you go to the auto parts store.
