F-body vs. Fox-body
F-body vs. Fox-body
Okay so here's the deal, I just purchased an '84 Camaro Z28 with a 5.0L H.O. and I have the notorious cousin with the '92 Mustang 5.0 LX. Well here goes, my Dad and I were BS'n with my cousin and we came to the idea that we are gonna race for pinks. Well here's the low down on the Rustang:
1992 5.0 LX
no internal engine mods or head work just bolt-ons
Underdrive pulleys
K&N filter
old motorsport plug wires
motorcraft plugs
borg-warner dist. cap
Mac ceramic coated headers
Centerforce gold clutch
Stock T-5 tranny
stock 2.73 posi rear gears
a buncha added weight in the car(books, speakers, and stuff)
AND a guy who doesnt know how to launch with out doin a burnout or bogging down.
And the ol Z28 is getting in the next couple days:
Late model 350(dipstick is on the same side as my 305 H.O. hehe)
forged flat-top pistons
big lunati bumpstick (don't know duration yet)
stall converter
my 305 H.O. heads (ported and polished, of course
stock 3.73 posi rear end
sticky 14in tires to lower the gear ratio to 4:10
250 hp NOS system
major weight reduction
I told him that he can inspect my engine and see that its the stock 305(hehe) and I am gonna stick my NOS in later in the afternoon after his "inspection". So, I know, im kinda cheating, but I also told him he could do any mods he wants in one month's time. Thing is, he is one of those peeps that likes to say he's getting a supercharger and never does. So, who do u think will win and by how much, I know u guys hate these questions, im just curious. So help a brotha out and tell me your opinion and also tell me my new mods i should do for my '92 mustang i am getting hehe
Thanks,

Well i'll give you my opinion on who I think will win, from the description you gave to your future engine:d,I think the mustang might have a chance
.You put a 250 shot on that motor,it's a possibility after you hit that little button the ole mustang just might be at the finish while your still at the starting line picking up the bottom half of the motor you blew out
.A 250 shot is a bit much for stock bottom end and if it does hold don't get greedy w/ the blue bottle insurance company
.Flat top pistons are good but stock rods,I would at least change those to forged and make it a little more stout.
