I have the engine and an auto tranny out of a 76 formula that im putting in to my 72 formula until i get the dough to do a nice rebuild of the original block. They're both 400s and I know the 76 is slow, but its better than nothing. Anyway, this is what I plan on buying for the motor. Any reccomendations?

if you can get your hands on a set of #16 or #670 heads, do that. that will give you a comp ratio of about 10.75. If that is too high for you, the heads on that 76 400 may be better. If they are 6X heads they will work fine on a street car. The 6X heads have larger valves. The 6X is a number cast onto the center exhaust port. But if $$$ is no object, go get some edelbrock heads.
