Continuation on the Vortec headed motor swap...

Okay, last night I posted about a guy who wants to drop the ZZ430 into his third gen (thanks for the reply FormulaJoe), and I was talking to him again tonight and plans have changed. Rate is combo...

MiniRam III (Vortec style)
Iron Vortec heads (Because of how close they flow to the fastburns which are twice as much).
Lunati Hydro. Cam (230/230 at .05 inch lift, .480 total lift)

What do you guys think? I gave him my opinions, and he didn't much care for them, so we are looking for others...

His line of reasoning was the the Vortec heads flow best from .4 to .5 inches of lift, so the .480 lift is great. Also, the .480 inch lift is only .30 more than the recommended level of lift for the stock springs, so he was going to keep them. Then being that the Vortec style head was based off the LT4 castings, he figured, why not use a miniram just for ease of installation? With heads flow about 240CFM per intake, the miniram, and the 230/230 cam, I thought this combination would be great up to about 6200 RPM, at which piont the cam would start to run out of steam and the heads would become maxed out on flow, which is good because that means things should be matched fairly well.

he plans on running long tubes, a true dual, a 2004R (my suggestion that he really really liked after I showed him the economy and logic behind it), and a set of 4.10's and a 2400 RPM stall convertor...

I said he might want to go with the MR II and the trick flows, but he dosen't want to pay the extra cash for heads that don't flow much better. Eventually he was going to put NOS on this motor. The motor is a stock GoodWrench motor, I'm unsure of the compression, but he mentioned something about flat top pistons...

Let me know what you think and I will copy and print out your comments to give to him.
