Swapping a GM crate 350HO into an 86 MonteCarlo SS.....
I am pretty sure that the block will fit but I need to know since the GM Performance Parts 350HO has the Vortec heads will the stock intake and exhaust manifolds bolt up? It has the Q-Jet computer controled carb, what intake can I use that has all the ports for the sensors and that Q-Jet will fit on? Also does this engine have the port above the oil filter for the oil pressure sender? Will the flex plate for the TH2004R bolt up? What else am I missing? Also does anyone know where I can get this engine cheap since I have not bought it yet? Is it a good choice or is there something better that costs about the same? I am NOT getting the deluxe, just the basic engine.....will the harmonic balencer from the 305 work with the 350, how about the distributor, do I need to replace the gear to a bronze one? Do these engines come with the pushrod hole for the mechanical fuel pump? Is the L69 a 1 or 2 piece rear main seal?
Thanks for the help!!!

I would replace the balancer with a new one because they just dont last... and the dist. gear will need to be changed.
The block will fit just fine, its the same as the 305 on the outside. The intake wont work since it has vortec heads, so you will need a new manifold... but they are available. The tranny will bolt up fine as well.
Im not sure about the fuel pump pushrod hole. It may not have the lobe for the pump on the cam either, so check into that.
