How much clearance are we talking about on the bracket? Left in right out on the fuel pump!

Re: The Build Is ON! 305 to 412 swap!

That's what I thought. Thanks! Fuel delivery is now 100% done.

The bracket is just off enough that if it is bolted to the water pump, you can only see about half of the bolt hole on the block. I could 'wallow' out the hole, but the wall will be so thin, I dont know if it would be the right option or any different than just cutting a c shape.

My 412 is still on the stand.

I actually just need to order a flywheel + clutch, and I can put the whole car together. Maybe next week

Well if you do, make sure you drill the alternate starter bolt pattern in the block, because You'll never get it to work with your T56 if you don't.

Not to hi-jack fromt the OP, but I'm running a Lakewood bellhousing with a 168 tooth flywheel so I could just get a staggered mini starter or see if I could find just the mounting block to change out on my Powermaster mini starter.

Thanks!

This is my first ever V-8 build and although I'm impatient, it has gone very well. It doesnt hurt to have family and friends that are able to show you the way.

If it doesnt change, we fire the motor Wednesday or Thursday for initial break-in!!!

Broke the motor in on Sunday and talked to my exhaust guy yesterday and she'll be close to driveable when that's all done. (Plan is a true dual exhaust with a Thrush muffler on either side and side exit in front of each rear wheel.)

Congrats on getting her fired up! For me it was so nerve racking starting it up for the first time. I was almost scared to.

Re: The Build Is DONE! 305 to 412 swap!

Found out that the rear end is actually a posi 3.27 that was a new option for T/As in 85.
Someone told me they had a 3.43 rear with disc brakes, but they didnt message me on a price and now my phone is broken...
