LT1 in 90 RS
I did a search on this topic and found some interesting info on the topic. First off I have the motor already so no going back now and the 305 TBI is gone. I have a few questions that i hope those of you who have done the swap can answer.
1. What motor mounts-what to use 305 TBI or 350 LT1 and they need moved back right?
2. What wires need to be retained from the factory wiring harness (305). I dont want to buy a wiring harness so my dad and i are going to put the two together.
3. If i buy slp headers can i use their y-pipe or do i need to fabricate one?
4. Where did you put the computer at?
5. I am keeping the AC so what line has everyone used who has done the swap from what car did you get the lines?
thanks in advance ricky neff

Well you should have been able to find all of that in the other posts by us but here ya go: the mount you need to modify it slightly to brace the back of the a/c pump on the passenger side, use the stock mounts and the engine stays in the same place, go to www.hpsalvage.com there are pics and directions on modding the mount, the SLP headers and y pipe will work fine, get the 1 3/4", you will also need to beat up the crossmember to clear the a/c pump, as far as wiring im too impatient to figure out the wires so i ordered the painless wiring engine harness.

Yes any exhaust made for your year Camaro will fit. I did all the wiring myself and it wasnt that bad with the help of the factory service manual. Stock mounts are a must due to the exhaust. The A/C will more than likely require you to noych the frame for clearance or to relocate the pump itself.
