Car: 1991 camaro RS
Engine: 305 TBI
Transmission: 5 speed
motor swap question. (speedo not working wire help)!!!!
So i got this 1992 firebird v6 to v8 project i picked up i goteverything to work except the speed odmeter. i got the pin outs the motor came from an 89 camaro so it wasnt a magnet but the harness had all the wires. so thats all hooked up but the problem inlies with the firebird. there is no speed sensor wires on the bulk head so i added 2 wires and cant find out where to hook them up if anyone could help me with this that would be great tanks..

90-92 V6/TPI cars directly connected the VSS to the ECM. Older V8's and all TBI's ran the VSS wires to a buffer box where it was split and translated to something the speedo, ECM and cruise could each read individually
You will need to add a buffer box

Where is this box located I found one in the junk yard. So I can take it out and put it in mine.

Usually its stuffed up in the dash near the ECM and wrapped with adhesive foam
