I have a 283 I'm want to install in my '89 IROC, but there are a few issues i need to clear up:
Will the starter bolt up to the 283 off of my '89 305 5 speed?
Does the clutch linkage bolt to the block in different places or does it bolt onto it at all?
Will getting headers fix the driver's side dipstick problem?
Will the computer be confused to a .030 over 283 and act all weird on me?
Any help would be appreciated

- The starter probably will not bolt up. You'll need to drill a hole. get a machine shop to do it for you, it shouldn't cost alot.
- The clutch linkage does not need the block. It bolts entirely to the bell housing.
- Yes.
- No. A .030" over 283 is about a 287. doubt the computer will care.
What kind of induction is this?
