LB9 to LT1?

I have a 85 trans am with the LB9, and a th700r4 trans. I was given an offer to buy a complete LT1 for $1000. I know the motor has very low miles, and would love to have that much power. What all would i have to do to swap this and keep my car a daily driver? Can i use my trans? because it was just rebuilt. Thanks for any input.

The hardest part would be to swap the mechanical fuel pump for an electric one since the tank in thirdgens is so crammed in.

85rollin, first time it took me 3 hours just to drop the tank, real PITA. once you know how to do it right it takes 30 minutes to drop the tank change the pump and put it back in. my trick is to put a transmission jack between the gas tank and the rear-end to be able to push the tank far enough to screw it !!! anyway i'm doing lt1 swap now and MAN ! the hardest thing is the wiring, it's really hard ! the gas tank is nothing compared to this ...
