Engine: v6...for now i want a 350
v6 to 327
hi i have an 86 firebird and it has the 2.8l v6 and i want to put my 327 and auto tranny into the car, i am having trouble with finding parts and straight answers.
do i need thicker front springs? i hear yes and no(car will be my dd)
ware can i get frame mounts for a v8
will the rearend hold up?(im not going to be nice to it, im 16)

Stock front springs are fine. I ran V6 front springs in my BBC car for years. A heavier spring rate will keep the nose up during hard cornering or braking.
You could pull the frame mounts from any junkyard car or just buy a set from the dealer or aftermarket.
Your 10 bolt diff is the same no matter what engine is in the car. The tiny 7.5" ring gear can be broken by a street car and has survived dragstrip use from a big block powered car. I doubt your 327 will cause much harm but that doesn't mean you still can't break the teeth off the ring or pinion.

sweet thanks for the help. i know how to do it all its just the things i have been told may break or need changed and i wanted straght answers insted of "i think".
so thanks agen for your guy's help and i think that dubble hump 327 will be a ball in that car
