Whats my chances of something nice!

I ordered a used L98 from International Auto Parts (ezfindparts.com) its got like 70,000 miles on. Heres my question

It arrived painted purple, it looks all stock, but its painted and has an airfoil in the throttle body, Im wondering what else might be done to it, if anything, is there anything I can do to look and see, like ways to tell if they are aftermarket heads or anything, just little things to check to see if anythings done to it, I'd love if it were.

Thanx

Brian

Most aftermarket heads have something stamped on the end. Otherwise, take off the valve covers and look for casting numbers or identification. Are the heads cast iron or aluminum?

Look at the rocker arms for what type they are. Put a dial indicator on the valve-side of the rocker arm, turn the engine over (by hand), and measure the valve lift. Do the same for the push-rod side, divide the former by the latter, you'll have the cam lift and the rocker arm ratio.

Measure the openings in the throttle body in mm's. 48mm would be stock.

Does it have a flex plate or flywheel? If neither, look in the crank for a pilot bushing/bearing.

The whole thing was painted purple? Sounds like it was in somebody's rod or custom job.
