ZZ4 Short Block : 12-13 sec 1/4 mile times??

ZZ4 Short Block : 12-13 sec 1/4 mile times??

I was told there is atleast one person here that used the zz4 short block...and is running 12-13 1/4mile times naturally aspirated....I want to get the ZZ4 short block...and want to know what combo of heads/cam/etc I should use to get these times....I will then use a 100-150HP shot of NOS to knock a second or so off of that time....just whenever I want to go to the track (aka...wont be using it much).....keep in mind I need to pass inspection (visual and sniffer). Oh and I will be running this with a ported TPI system...SLP headers...Underdrive Pulley System...and a Walbro fuel pump...any ideas?

and one more thing...this is my daily driver..and gas mileage is important to me....but I want to run with vettes, vipers, etc.

I know several people running ZZ4's and ZZ4 shortblocks in the low 12's NA the fastest NA car I have seen uses AFR 190 heads and a HOT cam runs 12.5s all day. One thing is you will not do it with a stock intake even a ported stock intake. But if you get a highflow base and runners and port you upper you can still be way under the cost of the mini or super ram. I hope to hit high 12s NA and high 11s on the n20.

The latest car craft or hot rod has a zz4 shortblock with 500hp and around 550 (i think)torque, i think they said it costs about 5500, check it out

yeah- my brother's got a 1987 camaro with a ZZ4- it's got a demon 750 cfm carburetor edelbrock dual plane manifold, rebuilt 700R4 trans, and a 3.73 posi with some nice sticky comp T/A's. it runs 13.3 all day long and ran a best of 13 flat, needs a little tweaking, the carb's got no choke so its tough to get it to run perfect. but the ZZ4's an awesome cam and the LT4 hot cam's supposed to add 45 extra horses (thats the next thing going on to it) other than that its completely streetable (l wouldnt reccomend a road demon carb for a daily driver) but other than that its totally streetable, gets good milage and runs awesome and its pretty dang fast. does anyone know if a 4.10 R&P would work better with the ZZ4 motor and a 700R4 than 3.73s?
