What To Do
Hey fellows, need some good info.Have 1984 camaro with 2.8 V6. It is very tired but car is like new condition.I have a 1984 350ci eng. that I would like to swap into this car. Here is my thing, car is in like new condition and i don't want to jury rig it but I would like to put this 350 in it.What do I need to change to make this engine work as a computer controlled engine? I have known guys to make these kind of changes and always have warning lights flashing on the dash and all kinds of funky things going on with the car.Hey guys I want to do this right,I don't want a bunch of hacked wiring under the hood when I open it up to show it off, what in detail do i need to do. If I want this kind of perfection do I need to just rebuild the V6,which I would'nt mind, but I thought since I have the rebuilt 350 it would be nice to stick it in there. HELP!!!
Thanks

Welcome aboard thirdgen.org.
Yes, it can be done. No, it isn't going to result in flashing lights if done properly (which isn't particularly hard to do).
First, read the V6 to V8 swap sticky in the top section of this forum.
As for a properly operating computer system, get an entire operating computer system from an operating car. You can either do that by buying the pieces, or buying a complete car and swapping everything over. This can be done with either a carburetor or EFI.
FWIW, later this year I'll have a complete computer carb system available. Right now I have one minus the carb and distributor available.

Re: What To Do
Hey friend, thanks for the info. When you have the complete system you spoke of I would be very interested in buying that, so keep me in mind.I assume that will bolt up to the engine I have now(350) since this engine came from the factory with a throttle body injection?
Thanks
