350 swap, help!
350 swap, help!
I'm in TX, what should the total cost be to swap in a goodwrench 350 (about $1300 as advertised)including the fee to install it. Scoggin-Dickey is up north in Dallas I think. I currently have a well running 305 in there so it should just be a "drop in".
a shop would probably charge 10-12 hours labor plus what everelse needs to be swapped like water pump/alternator/ac/ps/intake and fuel injection

Almost everything from the 305 swaps right over. There's only a few things you need that are different. A 350 Harmonic balancer is needed, and a 350 dipstick, the 305 hits the crankshaft. That's really all you need. I would highly recommend getting a good aftermarket intake and headers and installing those before the engine goes in.
The engine puts out 239 hp and 304 ft-lbs of torque with the LG4 intake and exhaust manifolds, and bumps up to 265 hp and 350 ft-lbs of torque. For someone to install, expect it to cost roughly $700
