Beginner needing good advice for a swap..
Beginner needing good advice for a swap..
First and foremost, thanks guys for all the help so far, but i've got a few questions for ya'll:
I am beginning to save up money for a big engine upgrade, possibly an engine swap. At present, i've got the L03 305 TBI in an '89 Firebird formula with the WS6 package..Before any research, i was wanting to see if any of you guys could help. I am looking for a 350 TBI that would be cost effective and would definitely bring a big jump in performance. My questions are:
1. Any suggestions for a good 350 TBI engine? i checked GM goodwrench, but i don't know where to begine in selecting one..a good cross between performance and price would be cool. A TBI 350 suggestion would be appreciated too.I could live with starting with a core and bolting on my existing engine necessities(heads, etc.) for the time being, but a cost-effective full set-up would be nice
2.Could i do a good 350 TBI engine set-up (including all parts needed to do the swap) for $2500 or less? i might be asking too much, but it never hurts to ask lol.
3. would emissions be a problem? is there anything i could do with a 350 to make it pass if so?
4. with a 350 swap, what actions should i take towards the car's internal computer?(can't think of the shorthand acronym..my amateur-ness shines through again :P )
ANY help would be appreciated and peace out guys!
