Both my old formula 305 and my 2.8 V6 got crappy mileage, so before I go swapping in a 3.4 I wanna be sure the mileage thing is worth it, otherwise in goes a V8.

Actually, I don't have any real numbers, but with the way I drive, its not good. Anybody else would get twice the mileage.

If your going to the 3.4 you'll have more power and a newer motor. If you really want some power just get some sort of a turbo setup.

No mods Ben, the Formula got really crappy mileage like 13 and 14, and I barely used to leadfoot it, also when I sold it it only had 68K miles. The 2.8 was dead though, it had like 200k+, I dunno if the previous owner had ever rebuilt it or anything, anyways its dead now. The Bird is sitting in the driveway, mouth wide open with no motor in it. I bought a 94 3.4L and sold it to a neighbor for a good profit , now I want my car back so I want to explore my options. Mind you this is my daily driver, I'm in college but I have a good job so money isn't that tight.

 

I'm getting around 24mpg on the highway with my 355, with just minor mods to fuel and exhaust.
