ZZZ Shortblock(used in ZZ4 and 385 fastburn engines) Questions about setup.

Guys,
My motor is fouling out the number 6 plug, And the compression on my motor is from 100-120psi.. Throttle body WIDE open when doing the test too..
I'm saving up to get a ZZZ shortblock and then put ALL of my exsisting equipment from my current setup on it(heads, cam, oil pan, blah blah).
What do you guys think this setup will run and are there any pointers to look for? It all seems pretty straight forward to me.

thanks,
Brendan

Yup, it's pretty straightforward. The ZZZ shortblock is made with good stuff...powdered metal rods, forged crank, LT4 hyper pistons. Do yourself a favor and buy the FelPro rebuild gasket kit. Much cheaper than buying the seals/gaskets individually and they include *EVERYTHING* in the kit. Mine even came with injector o-rings for the TPI. Slick.

I haven't heard if the ZZZ comes with cam bearings installed. Something to ask about when buying.

Looking at your mod list it doesn't look like you've done much with your heads...unless that's what "EB 6085's" are. If not, you'll want to have a shop recondition them while the engine is apart, possibly even upgrade valvesprings to accomodate the bigger cam and 1.6 rockers. If the EBs are heads, then maybe just have the shop replace seals if they have a lot of miles on them.

Good luck!

Yep, the EB 6085's are the heads. They have about 10k miles on them.
