Wiring harness for LT1

What harness did you use for the swap and did you like it. Getting close to that stage in the swap and would like to hear any opinions.
thanks

Factory. Not as simple as painless, TPIS, Howell-efi, etc., but you get all the emissions stuff, can use stock chip and you can buy bits and pieces from a junk yard. If you don't care about emissions I would suggest anything other than factory.

I combined the '92 and '95 with no emissions, much cheaper but very much a PITA

------------------
-'92 RS with self-installed '95 LT1
-Heddman Headers
-TPIS throttle body airfoil
-MSD 6-AL Ignition
Kills
-'97 Mustang Cobra
-'98 V6 Camaro
-'89 5.0 ****stang
-'97 Sebring
-'96 ****stang Cobra

Losses
-'99 Mustang GT
-'96 Mustang Cobra
-'95 Z28 (good race)
-'96(?) Turbo Eclipse (d*mn good race, heavily modified)

multi I would say that the painless wiring harness is about the same as if you would do your own wiring , the only thing it tells you is where every wire go and you still have to figure out everything. Painless wiring says it takes about 36 hours to install the kit if you are someone who knows what your doing. My wiring took me less than 20 hours to install. it's not that much of a PITA. you just need to know what is what.

That's why I decided to do my own, I was about to call jegs to get that painless wiring and I figured out they would sell me that same da*n thing that I already had .

TPIS's Howell harness rocks!! Very well made and very easy to work with. Well worth the money, considering the amount of time and effort one has to put forth to combine an older with a newer harness.

How much do these harnesses cost, and more importantly,do they hook up everything? What about a/c controls, cruise etc? If I do this swap I want everything to work.Especially since I keep "getting" to go to a Test Only smog station the last 2 smog checks...And did all of you guys piece the swap together or buy totalled cars?

That was my first choice before I decided to get silly and do it myself and save a buck or two. The money saved has not been worth it... Putting the old and new harness together has been a pain in the but!
