aluminum intakes?

i have a 305 out of an 86 berlinetta that i swapped into an elcamino andi was wondering about intakes. the 305 originally had an alluminum intake and is in good condition,it is stock. so will it make a difference to buy and edelbrock performer. if not i will clean up the stock one. the reason why i am asking is cuz it is stock. so would that make a difference since it is alluminum?

See https://www.thirdgen.org/messgboard/...ML/000961.html on the carb board.

The Performer, or an Action +, or the GMPP intake like I have, are probably better pieces. The question is if it will make any difference.

The answer is, probably not enough to make it worth it unless you do other things as well.
