I have a 1984 Firebird SE 2.8 V6 and I want to drop in a 85 305 from a Z28. The stock tranny in the car is a 5 speed manual. I want to know if I can bolt the 305 right up to the tranny. If not, I have a automatic 700-R4. What would be the best way? I really like the stick though.

Need a different bellhousing at the least.

Thats why I sold my 1984 SE (2.8 and 5 speed) to a guy in Columbus Indiana.

Try searching for this topic. I know that I've posted on it many times. Basically though, you can make it work if you want to. Good luck with the swap if that's what you decide to do.

Hey, zerogauge! He is talking about your car! It is that white firebird that I bought from you and sold to him. How funny is that!

I regret selling it now. I was talking to him last night about buying it back and pretty much had it arranged to buy it back, however my parents dont want me to have two cars at the house again. Gotta hate living at home.

That's hilarious though, that 3 owners of the same car would be in the same thread. You should see what he's done w/ the interior. It's gorgeous now. Has my Leather seats of the my 92 RS, new dash pad, new doorpanels and all new grey plastic, new tail-lights, carpet, He's done a great job w/ it.

yeah he is supposed to send me pictures today so that I could see it. He said it was nice. He told me that I couldnt have the leather seats if I bought it off him though.

Kind of a weird coincidence that we all are on this thread though. Later
