Fuel plumping for V6 to V8?

My swap is nearly complete, the engine and
tranny are in. I've had it running, now I'm
finishing up the wiring and plumbing the fuel
lines correctly. I did the shade tree mechanic
thing by running the fuel lines from the electrical fuel pump in the tank to an external fuel pump on the engine block(mechanical). The carb is still geting to much fuel because there is no regulator. I know I need a 3-port fuel regulator to run from the electrical fuel pump to the carb. My question is how do I plump the regulator in to the two fuel lines. Qwktrip had mentioned in another post about using the Accel TPI Fuel rail adaptor kit with a 3-port regulator. I would like to use Mallory's 3-port regulator.
However, I don't know how I'm going to plump it. If anyone has a shot of how they plumped the fuel lines that would be of great help.

You should have had a return line, typically smaller than the feed line, on the car originally. Unless removed, just plumb the regulator's 3rd port to that return line. 5/16" rubber hose should suffice for that. Go braided or hard line if you don't like the idea of great lengths of rubber line.

The TPI fuel rail adaptor is available at http://www.jegs.com by part number 310-74730. There's a picture of it there. It's a gasketed fitting that adapts your factory fuel fitting to a -AN style fitting. The Mallory regulator is fine. The key is to buy a high pressure to low pressure adjustable regulator so the high line pressure generated from your factory pump is brought down to about 7 psi for a carb and you can fine tune it with the adjustment.

There will be a port to screw in the inlet line to the side of the regulator. There will be a second port to allow fuel to pass through to the carb. There will be a third port in the bottom of the regulator for fuel to be bypassed to the return line back to your tank. It's a piece of cake. There might be other port depending on which regulator you buy but you can cap them off or install a fuel pressure gauge.

The fittings in the pressure regulator are national pipe tread (NPT). You will need to order up a couple adaptors to go from the -AN fitting from the ACCEL kit to the regulator. Any caps will also have to be NPT. The ACCEL kit uses the equivelent of a 3/8-inch fitting but in -AN designation. I don't remember what fitting size that is but I *think* it's -6AN. As far as hoses go order up about 3-feet of 3/8-inch stainless steel braided hose and two -6AN (if that's the right size) hose ends and an adaptor to whatever type of fitting you need at the fuel block on your carb. I've got a picture of all this and I'll find it and post it tonight.

I would not recommend you keep running the car without a regulator. The pressure from the pump slams the needles and seats in the carb.
