ihave a 89 chevy truck 350 tbi with 245,000 miles and still waiting for the damn thing to kill over so i can pull it out rebuild it and put it in my 92 camaro (tbi) i just have a few ?'s about it
1)how much horsepower does it have stock
2)what would i have to change to put it
in my car
3)could i use the intake off my 305 or
does the truck have the old style heads
4)will the 305 tbi fit on the 350 intake
5)will the 305 computer work finewith 350
6)will the 350 get enough gas with 305 tbi
7)when rebuilding the 350 what would be the
best parts to go with to get around 350-
400 horses without nos (would i have to
step up to the holley tbi then)
8)would it bolt up straight to my trans
thanks in advance

1)Dont know
2)Head accessory bolts might be different
3)Should have same bolt pattern, just look at the center bolt holes and it will be obvious
4)Just use the intake from the truck
5)Computer should work but you may need a custom chip especially if you mod it to make 350-400hp
6)You will probably need larger injectors
7)There are lots of good parts depends on your budget
8)Yes, use your flywheel/flexplate and you may need a new starter.

1. 89 350 TBI trucks had 190hp. They went to 210hp in 90.
2. You will need the Knock sensor (which is in the block near the starter) and the fuel injectors from the 350.
3. I would recommend keeping the 350 intake but either will bolt to the stock heads.
4. Yes you can use the 305 TBI but change swap injectors.
5. Computer will be fine with only a 20hp change.
6. Fuel pump will not need to be changed until you get close to 300hp. Then you will need the Walbro pump. http://www.autoperformanceengineering.com/
7. is the biggie? To make a 190hp engine into a 350-400hp engine means you will have to change nearly everything but the crank. Most definitely a Holley TBI with 2" bores or a 454 unit. You will need the 454 85# injectors with increased fuel pressure to feed that much horsepower. I am working with Air Flow research on my 420hp 350 TBI engine. Spending nearly $4000 so keep that in mind. Do you have the rest of your car ready. Posi, gears, trans, torque arm, lower control arms, panhard rod, sub frame connectors, strut tower brace, headers and free flowing exhaust. You can't just cram twice as much horsepower in a car and expect it to perform the way it should. You will also need one hell of a chip to run twice as much horsepower. I have been working on and gathering info on my car for a year just to get it ready for 400hp.
8. yes it will bolt to the tranny just the same.
