motors in!questions though......

well,I put the lb9 inplace of the Lg4.Put the carb, intake, vac advance distibuter, ect. It fired up on the first shot.My question though,I put the fuel pump(mechanical) on,and is it possible to push the rod inside where the fuel pump goes too far in?it went in kinda hard.also my fuel pressure bounces back and fourth between 7 & 8 psi.is that ok for the carb(edelbroke 1406)or should i put a fpr in line?i'm not the master mechanic but i did a few f-body swaps.2 in the last week actually. So feel free to ask any questions, and if i can help ya ,I will try....thakz in advanced

It is not possible to push the fuel pump push rod in to far. It will stop going in when it hits the cam shaft which the cam operates the fuel pump. The fuel pump push rod should slide back and forth freely. Fuel pressure for the edelbrock 1406 should be at a max of 6 psi. If the car has an in tank fuel pump, you should use it instead of the mechanical fuel pump.(too much restriction) Should invest in an AFR to get the pressure down. A fuel pressure gauge will bounce around a little bit, but not too much. Hope this helps

Hey BlueCamaro. Im going to be swapping my 305 carb to a 350 Carb. Im going to be runnning headers, and taking out all the emmisions... But what all should i be on the look out for as in unexspected things to happen? im getting the Edel 1406 intake with the Edel 600CFM 4 barrel carb... the Long block is going to be stock for now... (it will void the warrenty.. so im going to wait a little for a cam).. I'm getting a new oil and feul pump... But what should i be on the look out for? will the belt and pulley system be OK, and the radiator and Tranny? Thanks

It should be fine,i have no emissions stuff on my car.i ran most of my cars without the emissions stuff.Just look for a tech article or something to try to find the right size belt.Other then that ,I can't think of ant problems i ran into.I did a couple 350 swaps, one being a tpi, everything all fits into place.........hope this has helped..email me if ya have any other questions.....thankz
