i heard about something concerning a security system and VATS... and someone said i need to buy a new VATS chip and module, wat is it? and do i need it? i dont want to worry about any security system right now, i just wanna get the swap figued out lol

and one more thing, people say they used hedman headers with an LT1, does anyone have any part #'s as to which you used?

Any thirdgen headers can be used when an LT1 is in a thirdgen. About the VATS, you can get it programmed out of the computer so you won't have to worry about it.

Here I am at youtr rescue !!!

about the vats well it depends , if you are using the original wiring harness like I did it would be better to use the vats module that came with it and find the correct value of the pellet resistor in the key of the orignal car that had that motor in. if you're going with painless well you can use the old ECM if it's a 92-94, if it's above those year, you are screwed, you'll have to buy the painless then a new ECM or Chip without VATS.

the best way to do it is to keep all the orinigal wiring of the donor car and simply hook it up to your wiring ...it's not easy but it's not hard.

about the header i' used headman's header.... fairly easy to install and work great with the LT1.

Let me tell you that stang will get a kick in the *** after that swap.

I'm using Hooker Long Tube headers so far with no problems on my LT1.
