I know, I know 89 V6 to 87 V8 TPI
Here is the deal....I deer wrecked my IROC and I need a car. I was thinking about getting this V6 2.8 MPFI 5 spd untill the summer then swap over all my IROC stuff from the Rad to the rear(9 bolt disc). Now I have read about this swap and people talk about a dash wiring harness swap and such...what is that all about. What are all the small things I would need to change that people commanly overlook in these general post. I would like to get a good idea before i get into this. yes my father and I have mechanical experiance, we work on all our cars. My father was a mechanic and did MANY engine swaps and we just put the 305(has 200 miles on it) into my IROC.
Also, My friend has a 1989 S10 four banger. how hard would it be to put in the 2.8 carb in his truck?

How much damage can a deer do? Get the V6 car to drive until you get your IROC fixed. Offer to give the body shop the V6 car in exchange for the work on the IROC.

Car: 1986 Firebird
Engine: 2.8 V6
Transmission: 700R4
That's a good idea... sounds like an even trade!
Hell, I totalled my Firebird into a pickup truck at 35 mph, and I'm back on the road... I would've much rather hit a deer!
