Question about a new engine.
Question about a new engine.
I have a 1989 Camaro RS with a 305Ci. I am looking to upgrade to a faster engine. I really like the popular hotrodding article on "the mule". Has anyone read this? It uses a GM motorsports 400ci w/ EFI fastback system. Its an aluminum small block that weighs only 97 pounds. When machined properly + EFI fastback system = produces 610 Horsepower.
I think that my transmission can handle this... but I want to upgrade to a manual transmission. Any recommendations?
I am currently pricing this out...
A local mustang "club" has declared war on my car. "They" stuffed white slice bread around the pipes of my intake manifold and around the waterpump, tore a hole in the insulation under the hood which was then stuffed with bread, and dumped all the coolant out of my car. Cute huh? They even have stickers in their windows that say "the heartbeat stops here".
My revenge will take place...with them in my rearview mirror.

Hey, I like what you're doing but I have one quick question. If you're gonna pour $15G into this setup, aren't you afraid that the Mustang club will tear apart your new setup too? Just something to think about.
nope. The car is going on a lot. For now its being well protected by my local neighborhood hoodlums
Ive been trying to find someone that has this engine block. I called Summit and they told me that they are two years behind on all GM motorsport parts. I need a part number for this block... 400ci... havent been able to find it yet.
