330HP Gm crate engine...
hey i was thinking about swaping my tired 305 for this 330HP 350 engine that gm offers, has anyone heard stuff about it? is it just another over rated horsepower engine that gm put out? also i had baught a 570CFM carb by holley a while back, it is the street avenger version.. will this now not be a good size carb for the engine? please input what you guys think..
thanks
thanks
BTW here's a link to the webpage for basic spec's on it.. this is the deluxe version which just has a carb and stuff on it, but the specs are pretty much the same as the other 350 HO..

It is discussed at length on the swap, tech, and aftermarket forums. Do you understand what Vortec heads are? They have their limitation and problems. This thread https://www.thirdgen.org/messgboard/...ML/002254.html is an example of both the discussion of the engine that takes place and the issues with it.
It's an okay choice if you don't have emissions to worry about. Did you read this part? "This engine is perfect for your 1975 or older vehicle or any off-road usage."
The 600 Holley they put on it is pretty small. Your 570 would be even worse.
I don't mean to be a wet blanket, but you need to understand what you'd be getting.
